We will learn that Liam Neeson’s character Michael has been through a lot, riding with him on a New York ‘Commuter’ train to make the discovery. Transit that has been excruciatingly repetitive for him over ten years becomes anything but predictable for the viewer.

The opening cinematography is an enjoyable video mix-tape unlike any I recall. The twists and turns appropriately accelerate slowly out of the starting gate, but hurtle forward with the thrill of professional downhill ski race. Characters flash in and out of view as the film progresses through very engaging stages.

The finish satisfactorily told the story, but lacked the epic quality of total believability that could have garnered a gold medal … or at least a top-tier star rating from me. 🙂

Still, 7 stars is fair praise in these commentaries; I’m not the biggest fan of action films or mysteries. This one engaged me because it stayed “on track” as well as having intriguing characters in roles both big and small.
