We jet off for Australia. It seems like a long time to travel … by today’s standards. We will spend 16 hours in the air from Los Angeles to Melbourne, and another 5 hours flying to L.A., where we wait just a few movements of the little hand on the clock for that epic flight to Melbourne. Memorable Sports – 2005
2005 was the second time in the millennium we could see a Final Four of NCAA Men’s Basketball with both Michigan State and North Carolina competing for the title. There would be a third time in the same decade … and we would be there, too!
Memorable Travel – 2009
Russia was our 2009 destination, including this spectacular church on the island of Kizhi, with 23 onion domes. It is one of the few wooden churches that have survived, despite it’s northern location, and the most impressive fact is that it is built without a single nail, being fit intricately together like puzzle pieces. One of my favorite sites ever!
