in Tolerable, Pt1

In the spirit of

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade

The temporary moniker of this place will be “Tolerable.”

When norms may seem intolerable, I’d rather be in Tolerable.

An extended stay-at-home order is unappealing. While feeling at home by the sea in NC, sharing a plethora of April 2020 photos might cast “in Tolerable” with a more favorable light. 🙂

Conditions can be hazy, but these are open spaces … wide open!

Birds of a feather naturally flock together, except …

  • Birds Flock
  • Birds Flock

  • Birds Flock

… except when eyeing others suspiciously.

  • Birds Separate
  • Laughers Left, Herrings Right

Loners remain sedate, until crowding one brings out the evil eye and causes a flap.

Some take to the the air as an escape.

Skies and sea can be foreboding, yet captivating all the same.

Jelly is malleable, but a full stop might get it run into the ground (similar to economic well-being) joining other detritus washed upon the shore.

  • Colorful Detritus

There’s a pot of gold, by the sea, by the shining sea …

  • Rainbow to the Sea
  • Shining Sea

Next: Part 2 (click here) uses photos to explore current norms
somewhat playfully observed in this place.

      1. Doug, I was so touched that you would consider my stories inspirational. Hopefully one day our paths will cross in reality. In the meantime, don’t you think this virtual world is a little like the old days of pen-pals?

      2. I like the pen-pal suggestion, Gwen. I had not thought of it directly, but indirectly I have realized that the virtual world of blogging partially fills the void of abandoned space once known as “letter writing.”

  1. Greetings Doug, great post! Loved those pictures…and I tell you, having been locked in by the State for more than 40 days now, I cannot wait to see the ocean, well in my case, the Mediterranean Sea! All the best,
    Francisco

    1. Thank you, FBC. I will share more photos of this ilk within a day’s time. I have been attuned to Spain’s dilemma as well as the boundless creativity at your site. Please continue to share and please make virtual visits to my sea any time you need it.

      1. With great pleasure Doug! Take good care an all the best and keep photographing that beautiful Atlantic Ocean that I remember so well from the days I lived in Florida.
