9*; Ford v Ferrari (2019)

Particulars:
-Really about people, not cars
-Well-acted from the youngest to the oldest

It took a while to see this movie. I know there was a lot of attention given to it, but it did not have my attention. I would watch it again someday.

Matt Damon was good enough. Christian Bale and his little Ken Miles family were all terrific. “The Deuce,” aka Henry Ford II made the right impacts at the right time. I could easily have rooted for Enzo as the oldest in the cast of characters showed dedication, drive, and yet humility when warranted.

The key to enjoyment was telling a story with tension, suspense, humor, drama, and drive (couldn’t resist the pun) without resorting to silly chase scenes that would have taken the tale off track. (Two puns; I’m out!)

*(star) rating in the title is mine; e.g. 7*=Seven Stars (maximum 10)

  1. Well, I had not heard of it but it seems interesting. Hope you’re doing well Doug, take good care. I hear it is quite cold in the eastern US now. Here it is quite warm actually and our Valencia weather is always sunny, mostly…
Take good care and all the best,
    F.

    1. Francisco: You made me smile with “… always sunny, mostly …”. It is cold in the Eastern U.S.A., so you are quite aware of the world. But it is February, so we must expect that it will be so much of the time. Thanks for coming to my site. I happily take credit that you are now attune to a fine film.

      1. Yes I will look for that film, thank you Doug. I have many friends in New York and somehow I keep up with the weather over there on the east coast. Here it is unusually warm, but welcomed. Last year it was freezing at this time of the year. Take good care and all the best,
        F.
